Bridge repairs have been extended meaning a section of road near Aberdour will be closed for at least a month longer than expected.

The B9157, from the junction with Mill Farm Road to the roundabout with the A921, has been shut since June 1 and was expected to reopen on August 20.

However, work has now been extended until October 1.

Network Rail, who are responsible for the work, said that repairs have been "more extensive" than predicted.

Access will be maintained for residents and the diversion route for motorists is through Aberdour via the A921 and Mill Farm Road.

Works are ongoing to refurbish the structure, including blast cleaning, repairs to steelwork and painting.
