PARS fans will not need to refresh their social media for updates from the club this evening as any transfer news from East End Park is very unlikely.

Peter Grant is happy with the squad at his disposal with the Scottish transfer window set to slam shut later on.

With the clock ticking away, the Dunfermline boss is not planning any late swoops and is pleased with the business he conducted earlier in the window.

Rhys Breen, Reece Cole, Ross Graham (loan), Graham Dorrans, Leon Jones, Kai Kennedy (loan), Deniz Mehmet, Dan Pybus, Nikolay Todorov and Craig Wighton (loan made permanent) have all made the move to Dunfermline in the summer, but another addition tonight is not to be expected tonight.

A loan move, however, was not ruled out in the month ahead.

When asked by Press Sport this afternoon whether any signings are planned for tonight (Tuesday), Grant said: "We're fortunate that we can go to September (to sign loanees).

"The biggest problem is that I look about clubs and there's a big gulf now - COVID has hurt everybody a little bit - in that you're (looking at) either a senior player in the first-team squad, or a very young boy learning his trade. Unfortunately, there is a major gulf.

"I could go to clubs - big clubs, and I'm looking at a player that could be the quality that I already have here.

"I've always said that the only time you bring people into your football club is if they are better than what you have.

"I genuinely believe I done that in the summertime. We managed to amalgamate that group together and I think we have a great mix of players, but we have to perform."

In the unlikely event that any signing news does occur tonight, we will of course bring you the latest on our website, with reaction to follow in this week's Press Sport.
