A WOMAN was injured after being hit by her partner in Dalgety Bay.
Justin Andrews, 40, of Frankfield Place, Dalgety Bay, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He previously admitted that on July 26, at a different address in Dalgety Bay, he assaulted his partner by pushing her on the body and striking her on the head to her injury.
Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said the relationship had lasted 10 years and they had three children.
During a row, Andrews struck the woman on the face while she was holding a young child. She sustained swelling to her eye and the side of her face.
Defence solicitor Roshni Joshi said: “He accepts he did not react well to the situation.
“He is a first offender and says he is ashamed of his behaviour,” she added.
Sheriff Richard McFarlane told Andrews: “These events simply shouldn’t have happened but they did and we have to deal with them.”
He imposed a community payback order with 100 hours of unpaid work and 12 months of supervision.
