A KELTY man breached a court order by going to the home of his ex-partner in Dunfermline.

Craig Daley, 47, of Cocklaw Street, Kelty, managed to avoid a jail sentence when he appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted he breached the order when he went to her home on August 5.

Depute fiscal Azrah Yousaf said Daley had turned up at the woman’s house saying he had nowhere to stay and she allowed him to sleep there.

However, the next day, she had contacted the police.

Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said: “It’s not true that he said he had nowhere to stay. She had invited him there.”

He said his client had suffered because of significant issue with alcohol but wanted to return to being a “useful member of society as before”.

Sheriff Richard McFarlane noted that Daley had “a track record of non-compliance” which had landed him in jail previously.

He imposed a community payback order with two years of supervision and Daley will take part in the Caledonian Programme for domestic abuse offenders.
