A YOUNG woman was reported unconscious near water in West Fife last night (Wednesday).
Police were called to Inverkeithing to help a 20-year-old woman who had had "too much alcohol", officers posting on the South West Fife Police Twitter account said.
They attended at 7.10pm and issued a warning following their departure from the scene, highlighting the potential severity of the incident.
Officers said: "Just finished at a call to Inverkeithing. A female reported unconscious near the water.
"Thankfully, nothing more than to too much alcohol.
"Could’ve ended a lot worse with the tide coming in. Thanks to @Scotambservice and @HMCoastguard.
"Alcohol and open water do not mix. Think."
