THE fourth charity concert held in honour of one of Fire Station Creative's founding directors has been announced.

Bob Moir died at the age of 66 in 2016 after more than a year-long battle with prostate cancer.

He played a pivotal role in the conversion of Dunfermline's old fire station into a contemporary arts hub.

Over the course of four months, he painted out each of the 21 studios, to allow the artists and creatives to take up their residency.

The fourth event in his memory will take place on Friday, October 1, at the venue, with all ticket sales going to Prostate Scotland.

Playing on the night will be Steamer Lane, with RAAB, Sandy Power and Terry Weston also performing.

Ian Moir, Fire Station Creative director and son of Bob, said: "We’re very grateful to Alan Forrester, of Steamer Lane, for organising this superb event each year.

"The performers he attracts are outstanding. Expect to hear gorgeous vocals and beautiful guitar-playing in a variety of genres such as Americana, indie, country and folk.”

Morag Idan, of Prostate Scotland, added: "This year, our work needs a special effort to reach more people with information about prostate cancer and disease.

"By supporting us with this concert, we as a charity have a better opportunity to help and support even more men and their families in their local community.”

Doors open at 6.45pm, tickets cost £8.50 and can be bought from the FSC cafe/bar or online at Eventbrite.

All proceeds from sales will go to Prostate Scotland.
