A 26-YEAR-OLD man committed domestic offences against his partner in Dunfermline, lasting more than a year.
Ethan Briscoe, formerly of Castleblair Park and now living in Carlisle, appeared for sentencing at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted previously that between April 1, 2019, and May 31 last year, at Woodmill Street, Fife Academy of Performing Arts, Pilmuir Street and Whitefield Road, all Dunfermline, he engaged in a course of conduct which was abusive of his partner.
On various occasions, he shouted and screamed at her, threw household items and on one occasion held a knife at his head and struck himself on the body with it.
Depute fiscal Lee-Anne Hannon said that Briscoe had held the knife up to his head before stabbing himself in the abdomen with it.
The couple had split up after this incident.
Defence solicitor Stephen Morrison said it was his client’s position that he had received physical abuse from his former partner including being kicked by her.
“He doesn’t have his troubles to seek regarding mental health issues,” he added.
Sheriff James Macdonald imposed a community payback order with 18 months of supervision and a non-harassment order for the same period.
