A 14-YEAR-OLD boy had a tooth knocked out after being headbutted by an older youth in Rosyth.

The assailant, a 16-year-old boy from Dunfermline, cannot be named for legal reasons.

At Dunfermline Sheriff Court, he admitted that on November 28 last year, at Park Road, Rosyth, he assaulted a boy then aged 14 by butting him on the head to his injury.

He also repeatedly breached a bail condition banning him from entering Dunfermline.

Depute fiscal Lee-Anne Hannan said the incident had occurred at around 9.35pm when a group of youths had been consuming alcohol.

The accused turned up and started acting aggressively before he attacked the victim.

The 16-year-old headbutted the younger boy to the left side of his jaw. One tooth was knocked out and another was split by the blow.

The victim’s mother was contacted and when she arrived at the scene, she found her son injured and very intoxicated, added the depute.

Sheriff James Macdonald imposed a community payback order with 100 hours of unpaid work and 12 months of supervision.
