A RESTAURANT in Inverkeithing has been boarded up after the death of a 44-year-old man last Friday.

Police had been called to the restaurant on High Street at around 4.35pm last Friday following a report of a 44-year-old man having been seriously injured following a disturbance.

He was taken to Victoria Hospital but died a short time later.

Abdul Foyez, 26, from Inverkeithing, appeared in private and on petition at Dunfermline Sheriff Court charged with murder and being in possession of a bladed item in public.

Foyez made no plea and the case was committed for further examination.

He was remanded in custody and will re-appear in court.

The restaurant has been boarded up today (Thursday) and police officers have been seen in the Hill Street area, and at the Roseberry House building.

The doors and windows on the ground floor of the restaurant are now sealed off and eyewtinesses reported two "scientific support units" arrived at the scene at around noon today.

Police Scotland confirmed to the Press that activity at the restaurant today relates to ongoing inquiries relating to the death, with the building boarded up to secure it.
