MORE than 1,000 jobs are to be created at Amazon Dunfermline.
Amazon announced on Tuesday that it has started hiring for seasonal positions at the fulfilment centre.
Pay for operations roles starts at a minimum of £10 per hour, rising to £11.10p/h in some parts of the UK.
Jamie Strain, site leader at Amazon Dunfermline, said: "We look forward to welcoming back seasonal workers who return year after year to Amazon and to welcome new faces to the team, many of whom will continue on to full-time roles with the company after the festive period."
Craig Urquhart, one member of the Amazon team who joined initially as a seasonal worker before becoming permanent, said: “I started working at Amazon in Dunfermline in November 2011 in a temporary seasonal role. I stayed in that role until May 2012, when I was made permanent. Since then, I have progressed to team leader, area manager and operations manager.
“I originally joined Amazon because the shifts were very appealing and the pay was great.
"As my time with the company grew, I quickly learned that no two days are the same, and every day has new challenges and new opportunities. That’s a bonus for me – it’s an interesting and exciting place to work.
"It’s such a supportive place too. I would not be where I am today without the support of the teams I have worked with."
