SOMEONE will have to wake Dancing on Tables up when September ends after signing an album deal with Green Day's former manager.

The Dunfermline band will release their debut record next year after revealing a dream deal had been struck.

Veteran artist manager Pat Magnarella’s California-based record label, Enci Records, announced a joint venture deal with Nashville-based indie LV Music, founded by Grammy-winning songwriter/producer, Femke.

The joint venture's first move was signing DOT on the dotted line, much to the five-piece's delight.

Ahead of the news being unveiled on social media, the Press spoke to the band's Robbie McSkimming on what the deal will mean to the band going forward.

"It's been the biggest secret we couldn't tell anyone but we can now shout it from the rooftops," he said.

Magnarella made contact with the band on August 12 last year – the same day that Robbie got engaged to his fiancée – and the deal between all the parties involved was signed early last month, around a year on.

Now that the news is out, the guys are applying the final touches to the album, which has been touted for a release in the first half of 2022.

"We've waited so long to release an album," Robbie said.

"We could have done it before now but now is the right time and we have the right support in place.

"It seems as though the stars have aligned for us.

"We've always been adamant that everything had to be right as the first album sets the benchmark for your career, really.

"Everything we're doing is going to take us to that next level."

While the new album is months away, fans won't have to wait long before they hear from the band again with another release of music to come in October.

It's been a phenomenal rise for the group, which formed at Queen Anne High School.

The band won the Dunfermline Press Live Music Award in 2016, which was then followed by them signing with LV Music in late 2017.

Their releases have seen them become the sound of Schuh x Adidas and multi-year Scottish Water advertising campaigns, bag spots on reputable playlists such as New Music Friday, The Pop List and Breaking Alternative; as well as being named one of Variety Magazine's '10 Brits to Watch'.

Prior to the pandemic, they were also selling out shows across Scotland and were given the "absolutely mental" opportunity to support Catfish and the Bottlemen on their UK arena tour.

Dancing on Tables will play a hometown gig at PJ Molloys on Saturday, October 16, with limited tickets available via: www.ticketweb.co.uk
