David recently started fostering with Fife Council.  He says: “I was working full time as a joiner and one day while I was driving my van, I heard an advert on the radio about fostering with Fife Council.

It started me thinking. Driving the van between jobs gives you lots of time to think and I began looking back on my ten years of coaching kids football.

Some of the children were from different backgrounds and I saw the difference two hours playing football every week made to them.  How the encouragement I gave them helped them feel better about themselves.

I knew some children needed foster families and I started wondering how much difference I could make to a vulnerable child by giving them full time care.

I find fostering so rewarding, the difference you can make to a child's life is amazing.”
