A MAN has been arrested after a horror car crash on the M90.

Emergency services raced to the scene yesterday afternoon (Tuesday).

Police Scotland said that three vehicles were involved in the collision at Junction 2A, Dunfermline.

Photos of the aftermath of the crash show a red BMW badly damaged with a lorry stopped behind the car.

Officers said that 'miraculously' there were no serious injuries in the incident, which took place at around 2.30pm.

Police commented that the driver of the BMW was arrested, but he refused to provide a blood sample.

A statement on Fife Police Division Facebook, said: "Fife Road Policing attended this crash on the M90 this afternoon, miraculously there were no serious injuries.

"The BMW smelt strongly of cannabis & the driver appeared impaired; he was arrested but refused to provide a blood sample.

"Charged with:
1. Sec 4 RTA 1988 (unfit to drive through drink or drugs)
2. Sec 7 RTA 1988 (refusal to provide a blood sample)

"A report will be submitted to Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service (COPFS)."
