THE boss of the umbrella organisation supporting Inverclyde's third sector has hailed local organisations for their key role in tackling poverty.
CVS Inverclyde's chief executive Charlene Elliott highlighted their 'incredible work' to mark Challenge Poverty Week.
Charlene said: "Inverclyde is an area of great beauty but it is also home to some of the most deprived communities in Scotland.
"Charities, voluntary organisations and social enterprises have a huge role to play in supporting the most vulnerable people and helping to loosen the grip of poverty.
"Inverclyde’s third sector is working tirelessly to alleviate poverty - the work they are doing is inspiring."
