POLICE on the beat in South West Fife had to deal with assaults, resisting arrest, carrying a knife and breach of bail in the space of a week.

In the seven days from October 11, they received 152 calls for their patch, which includes Rosyth, Inverkeithing, Dalgety Bay, Oakley, Valleyfield and Kincardine, and 17 of them required an emergency response.

This led to 16 crime files being opened, containing 28 charges.

Other offences included an attempt to pervert the course of justice, culpable and reckless conduct, driver failing to provide specimen of breath and driving with no insurance.
