BABCOCK's "outstanding growth in overseas sales" has been recognised with award success.

For the third time in five years, the Rosyth-based firm has received a Queen's Award for Enterprise.

Babcock's Liquefied Gas Trade (LGE) has been acknowledged in the category of Internal Trade for its fast growth in the liquefied gas transportation market.

The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are for outstanding achievements by UK businesses, with Babcock LGE one of 205 recipient organisations this year.

The Lord-Lieutenant of Fife, Robert Balfour, presented the award to Babcock LGE’s Neale Campbell, managing director, who said: “The Queen’s Award is testament to the hard work and efforts of everyone at Babcock LGE.

"We are delighted to have been recognised for our outstanding growth in overseas sales over the last three years and I’m really proud of everyone involved in this achievement.”

Babcock's success has also been praised by Fife Council.

Pamela Stevenson, service manager for economic development, said: “This is fantastic news for Babcock, which already has a great, enterprising culture and works closely with Fife Council across a range of projects to boost local skills and employment.

"The Queen’s Award is testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone at Babcock LGE.

“Many businesses in Fife show a real entrepreneurial spirit that continues to drive social mobility, as they strive to find new markets to export to and produce innovative products and services.

"The past year has been challenging for so many businesses – so it is more important than ever to mark the significant achievements and contributions businesses make to communities across Fife.”
