ART and crafts made with “love and skill” will soon go on display in Dunfermline.

Fire Station Creative will be presenting its annual tenants’ exhibition, opening next Friday.

Unique handcrafted ceramics, photography, jewellery and artworks from more than 15 local artists and artisans will be on sale at the arts hub on Carnegie Drive.

Alby Grainger, photographer and guest curator, said: “In this increasingly digital world of mass production and impermanence, this exhibition celebrates the tangible and individual.

“You can come to a physical location, and view a diverse range of work created with love and skill.

“You can then invest in the artists’ future by treating yourself or a loved one to a special gift."

Long standing tenants Marion Barron and Kelly-Anne Cairns will be exhibiting their work in the show. Kelly-Anne, whose work is featured in the exhibition poster, (above) said: ‘I wanted to capture the heart and soul of Fire Station Creative cafe within my painting which to me is Jose and the bar staff.

"At first glance it looks like a fairly traditional painting which could have been set anytime within the last 100 years – but look closer; Jose and the two waitresses are wearing face masks – a reality of the current situation.

"I love bringing traditional and contemporary together.

“It’s so exciting to have this painting included in the tenants exhibition as it celebrates everything that makes this beautiful building and the ethos of Fire Station Creative.”

Marion added: “I’m delighted to once again be part of the annual tenants’ exhibition at the Fire Station.

"As an artist who is mostly inspired by urban architecture, I’m pleased to be showing my work in the exhibition space of this beautiful building alongside fellow artists and makers.”

The exhibition runs from Friday, November 5 to Sunday November 28 and is entry is free.
