BURGER KING are paying an annual rent of £82,500 a year for their new drive-thru restaurant in Halbeath.

The fast food chain opened just over a month ago at the Pittsburgh Retail Park, creating 30 new jobs, and has agreed a 20-year lease with landlord Pittsburgh Fife Ltd on the 2,750 square foot drive-thru unit.

The restaurant's opening times are 11am to 10pm and international real estate advisor Savills advised Burger King on the site.

John Menzies, retail director at Savills Glasgow, comments: “As the second-largest fast-food hamburger chain in the world, Burger King is a hugely successful brand that will add an exciting new dynamic to Pittsburgh Retail Park.

“This is the latest in a number of new Burger King restaurants in Scotland with more openings due before Christmas. The chain is keen to expand further throughout the Scotland region operating from units between 1,800 sq ft and 2,750 sq ft.”
