YOUNG West Fifer Struan Ruth has been ensuring the sacrifices of fallen servicemen and women are remembered at Dunfermline’s Royal British Legion.
The five-year-old was helping at the Scottish Forces Breakfast Club on Saturday by selling poppies.
Proud grandad Mike Boyle said Struan had asked for a poppy box from the Poppy Scotland volunteers.
“Nobody gets past him till they donate to the Poppy Scotland Appeal and he managed to collect £20.75 in the Royal British Legion which was great,” he said. “He started doing this on the last appeal when he was three.
“I am a veteran and his grandad. If you ask him, he will say they gave their lives to save us. That’s how the generations after us should remember and we shall never forget.
“His mum and dad are very proud of him as he sees it as his duty and will do it every year.”
