A DUNFERMLINE schoolgirl is celebrating after becoming an Irish dancing champion.
Seven-year-old Saoirse Ferguson won the under-8 Scottish title competing against children from across the country.
The St Margaret's Primary School pupil started dancing when she was just three and attends classes twice a week.
Mum Olive told the Press: "She absolutely loves it – she's always dancing around the place and she loves going to classes.
"I've always said if she doesn't want to do it that's fine but she she gets so much enjoyment from it.
"She's also made great friends at her classes."
Olive, who is originally from County Kerry, took part in Irish dancing at school but she doesn't think Saoirse got her championship skills from her!
"Oh no, I've got two left feet!" Olive said.
"When we've watched River Dance I've asked if she would like to be doing that and she has said she would like to be up there.
"But I don't think she is thinking that far ahead because she has also told me that she wants to be a vet!"
