BASIL has established itself again as one of the best Indian restaurants in Scotland after success at the industry's top award ceremony.

The Dunfermline eatery turned up the heat to win Customer Service of the Year at the 13th Scottish Curry Awards 2021.

Established in 2008, the awards are customer-led, with diners being asked to nominate their favourite restaurants and chefs.

The awards recognise the hard work, determination, impeccable service and efforts of the best Scottish curry establishments and professionals that create and serve delicious dishes at an excellent standard.

Basil's win follows an award for their service and excellent standards two years ago at the ceremony.

Owner owner Parsuram Sigdel, known as Ram, said: “It is great people are appreciating what we are doing.”

Irfan Younis, CEO of Oceanic Consulting, said: “We are honoured and delighted to have such great finalists and winners representing the Scottish curry industry and enhancing its reputation nationally and internationally."

A total of 350 guests were welcomed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel in Glasgow November 15 in celebration.

The black tie event was hosted by presenter, Tommy Sandhu.

Last week, the Press reported that fellow Dunfermline eatery Dhoom, based on New Row, was named Most Wanted Restaurant at the same ceremony.
