DUNFERMLINE'S new Tim Hortons drive-thru outlet has officially opened its doors.

The iconic Canadian chain of coffee shops have converted the old Chiquito's diner at Fife Leisure Park into what is their second outlet in the town.

From 6am this morning, they welcomed customers to the new restaurant, the first of which was gifted free coffee every day for the whole year.

Open until midnight seven days a week, Tim Hortons - famed for its coffee, freshly baked donuts and hot meals - are running a month of giveaways which include free drinks and donuts, and exclusive deals including any Breakfast Meal for £2.49, which includes a main breakfast item, small hot drink or orange juice and a hash brown.

These promotions will be available to anyone who activates their Tim Hortons digital card - redeemed via scanning a QR code within the store or by visiting here.

Also on the menu are best-selling items such as Timbits, Iced Capps, Freshly Baked Donuts and Tims Crispy Chicken Sandwich, whilst fans of the brand will also be surprised by its newly launched menu that will be available at the new Dunfermline venue, which includes beef burgers and hot dogs, as well as lattice fries as a new side.

They have also recently launched its limited edition festive menu, so guests can try its new Snowball Surprise Deluxe Donut, Christmas Crispy Chicken and back by popular demand, its Rudolph the Reindeer Donut. The drinks menu will also delight guests with Orange or White Hot Chocolate, Salted Caramel Latte and Gingerbread Latte all new editions to its winter warmers menu.

Kevin Hydes, Chief Commercial Officer at Tim Hortons® U.K. & Ireland said: "Our fans have been eagerly waiting for our new drive thru restaurant to open in Dunfermline. Our existing restaurant on Hospital Hill has proved very popular with the local community, and we knew from their feedback that there was interest in a drive thru option so it’s fantastic to be able to now deliver that to the town. Our dedicated team have been training hard behind the scenes to ensure every customer has the quality experience we’re so well known for, and we cannot wait to welcome each and every guest through the door, morning noon and night”.

The chain said the new location would offer a warm, welcoming and comfortable restaurant, as well as two drive-thru lanes.

The goods on offer include the brand’s signature Timbits – bite-sized doughnuts which come in a variety of flavours – as well as a range of coffees, hot and cold drinks, pastries, light lunches and snacks.

Fife Council granted planning permission in May for the coffee shop to open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

It will employ up to 40 people and have 48 parking spaces.

Tim Hortons opened their Hospital Hill shop in December 2017.
