AN AUTHENTIC Thai street food experience is coming to Dunfermline for the first time.

Opening its doors today (Thursday), Little Thailand Street Food has taken over premises in Bruce Street.

Sit-down or takeaway are available with home, fresh cooking at the heart of the restaurant.

The new venture has been a long-term dream for owner Pratum Kwiatowsti, who has set up the business with her husband.

"We used to have a restaurant in England but since 2006, we have been working for big companies.

"I got fed up working for someone else and Dunfermline seemed like a great place to do this.

"We live in Edinburgh but my daughter works in Dunfermline and after looking for two years for somewhere, we just thought, 'Why not?!'

"There's nothing like it here."

Inspired by Pratum's childhood, the menu will offer dishes such as steamed dumplings, tom yum soup, deep fried duck, and pad kraprao.

"Nobody else does food like Thailand, I've cooked all sorts of international dishes but Thai is best!" she added.

"It's going to be traditional, just like how I grew up. Good, home-cooked food just like how my parents and grandparents did it.

"It will be a home from home for me so it's going to be spicy!"

Authentic ingredients will be imported from Thailand with meat and vegetables from local suppliers.

Pratum added: "I helped a friend set up a Thai takeaway in Livingston last year so the opportunity here was just the job I have been dreaming of.

"People tell me they have to go to Edinburgh for Thai food so they are happy we are opening up here.

"A lot of locals have been excited when they see the sign when they go past too!"
