A 17-YEAR-OLD Inverkeithing youth has appeared in court for a series of violent incidents.

The youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, assaulted two 15-year-old schoolboys after his girlfriend had been insulted.

He then became involved in a row in the family home during which he assaulted his parents.

The youth appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He admitted previously that on September 17, at Hillend Road, he assaulted a boy then aged 15 by kicking him repeatedly on the head and body to his injury.

He was also found guilty of assaulting another boy, aged 15 by seizing him by the neck and striking him on the head with his knee to his injury.

He further admitted that on October 15, he assaulted his mum by pushing her on the body, resulting in her falling to the ground.

He then assaulted his dad by pushing him on the body, resulting in him falling to the ground to his injury.

Depute fiscal Mat Piskorz said the assault victims in the first incident were both pupils at Inverkeithing High.

The accused had been upset about a previous incident in Dalgety Bay in which a group of boys had shouted at his girlfriend.

This had been the background to the assaults which occurred at around 1.30pm as pupils were walking back to school after their lunch break.

In the other incident, the youth had been woken by his dad to go to work but said he was not going.

A row began in which he pushed his mother to the floor and then also pushed his dad, who fell, injuring his shoulder.

Sheriff Charles Macnair warned the youth that if he continued to offend he would find himself behind bars.

He said: “These were two incidents where you decided you were going to use violence and thought that it was appropriate to do so. If you continue to act on this way, you’ll find yourself in a custodial setting soon.”

The sheriff imposed two community payback orders with a total of 125 hours of unpaid work and 12 months of supervision.
