A DUNFERMLINE woman attacked a female neighbour at her front door, grabbing her by the hair and trying to drag her from her home.

The incident between the two mums followed after an argument between groups of children in the street.

Kimberley Tracey, 31, of Izatt Avenue, appeared in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

She admitted that on May 16, at Johnston Crescent, she assaulted a woman, seized her by the hair, attempted to drag her from her home into the garden and attempted to punch her, to her injury.

She also admitted she shouted, swore and behaved in an aggressive manner.

Depute fiscal Jill Currie said the incident began at around 8pm when two groups of children were playing in the street and began to argue.

Tracey then began shouting at a 14-year-old girl saying: “Get your mum out. Let’s go f****** mental.”

The girl ran into her home to tell her mum and Tracey then entered the garden and approached the front door.

“Let’s f****** go. Get out of there,” shouted Tracey, who appeared to be intoxicated and was waving her arms in the air, added the depute.

She then grabbed the woman’s hair and tried to drag her from the door into the garden.

The woman then grabbed Tracey’s to stop herself from being dragged, the court was told. Tracey fell down on the ground still grabbing the woman’s hair.

The victim was screaming for Tracey to get off her and police were called by onlookers.

Defence solicitor Alexander Flett said it was a row between neighbours after the children had fallen out.

He added: “She accepts if she hadn’t been drinking, she wouldn’t have behaved in this way. This seems to be entirely out of character. She had been told that her nine-year-old had been threatened by an older child.”

Sheriff Tim Niven-Smith deferred sentence until May 25 for Tracey to be of good behaviour.
