A WOMAN was badly injured after being pushed down stairs by her partner in Cairneyhill.
It was only the couple’s second date, Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard.
Stacy McLean, 29, now of Manor Court, Stanley, appeared in the dock for sentencing.
She submitted a guilty plea during the course of a trial.
She admitted that on July 14 last year, at Greycraigs, Cairneyhill, she assaulted her then partner by pushing her from the doorstep causing her to fall, whereby she struck her head on the ground to her injury.
The court was told McLean works as a claims handler with a law firm in England.
Sheriff Charles Macnair commented that the victim could not remember much of the incident because of her injuries.
He told McLean: “Whenever someone is pushed down stairs there is the risk of them sustaining significant injuries by striking their head and that’s what happened here.”
The sheriff imposed a community payback order with 200 hours of unpaid work. McLean was also ordered to pay £1,000 compensation.
