Parts of Denbighshire, Flintshire and Wrexham have some of the highest Covid case rates in Wales.

MSOA (middle layer super output areas) date released by Public Health Wales has revealed that four areas in the region have a Covid case rate among the top ten per cent in the country.

More than one per cent of people in Rhyl South West tested positive for coronavirus in the seven days between November 25 and December 1

During that seven-day period, 59 new Covid cases were recorded in the area, giving it a case rate of 1,071.8 cases per 100,000 people, the worst rate in Pembrokeshire.

Pen-y-Cae and Minera, New Brighton and Mynydd Isa, and Pen-y-ffordd and Higher Kinnerton, all also had some of the worst rates in Wales.

Denbighshire

  • Rhyl North: 32 new cases; a rate of 335.7 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Prestatyn North: seven new cases; a rate of 120.6 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Prestatyn Central & East: 24 new cases; a rate of 458.9 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Prestatyn South: 12 new cases; a rate of 230.6 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Rhyl South West: 59 new cases; a rate of 1,071.8 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Rhyl East: 46 new cases; a rate of 421.9 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Rhuddlan & Bodelwyddan: 15 new cases; a rate of 234.1 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Dyserth & Temeirchion: 45 new cases; a rate of 692.9 cases per 100,000 people.
  • St Asaph & Trefnant: 18 new cases; a rate of 335.8 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Denbigh West: 15 new cases; a rate of 286.8 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Denbigh East & Pentre Llanrhaeadr: 15 new cases; a rate of 227.7 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Llandyrnog & Llanarmon-yn- Iâl: 27 new cases; a rate of 441.2 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Ruthin: 24 new cases; a rate of 426.4 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Corwen, Llanelidan & Efenechdyd: 25 new cases; a rate of 473.0 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Llangollen & Llandrillo: 345 new cases; a rate of 530.8 cases per 100,000 people.

Flintshire

  • Gronant, Ffynongroyw & Trelawnyd: 11 new cases; a rate of 220.5 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Mostyn & Holway: 17 new cases; a rate of 255.4 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Holywell & Bagillt: 40 new cases; a rate of 366.2 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Caerwys, Halkyn & Nannerch: 31 new cases; a rate of 382.1 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Flint South West: 37 new cases; a rate of 595.7 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Flint North East: 44 new cases; a rate of 633.7 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Connah’s Quay North: 28 new cases; a rate of 458.4 cases per 100,000 people.
  •  Connah’s Quay Wepre: 36 new cases; a rate of 490.2 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Shotton & Garden City: 49 new cases; a rate of 484.0 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Connah’s Quay South & Northop Hall: 40 new cases; a rate of 601.9 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Buckley North, Northop & Sychdyn: 44 new cases; a rate of 684.7 cases per 100,000 people.
  • New Brighton & Mynyddisa: 61 new cases; a rate of 846.8 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Mold: 50 new cases; a rate of 493.9 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Leeswood, Treuddyn & Gwernaffield: 44 new cases; a rate of 591.9 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Hope: 42 new cases; a rate of 678.5 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Penyffordd & Higher Kinnerton: 56 new cases; a rate of 912.2 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Buckley South: 55 new cases; a rate of 545.1 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Ewloe & Hawarden: 49 new cases; a rate of 450.9 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Queensferry & Sandycroft: 23 new cases; a rate of 413.4 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Broughton & Saltney: 52 new cases; a rate of 433.2 cases per 100,000 people.

Wrexham

  • Chirk & Ceiriog Valley: 32 new cases; a rate of 493.7 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Cefn Mawr: 29 new cases; a rate of 316.0 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Pen-y-Cae & Minera: 48 new cases; a rate of 838.1 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Coedpoeth & Brymbo: 47 new cases; a rate of 515.1 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Rhosllannerchrugog & Johnstown South: 17 new cases; a rate of 241.9 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Ruabon & Marchwiel: 36 new cases; a rate of 543.2 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Johnstown North & Rhostyllen: ten new cases; a rate of 163.1 cases per 100,000 people.
  • New Broughton & Bryn Cefn: 49 new cases; a rate of 631.5 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Gwersyllt West & Summerhill: 33 new cases; a rate of 557.0 cases per 100,000 people.
  • Llay South & Gwersyllt East: 40 new cases; a rate of 498.4 cases per 100,000 people.
