FIFE Council has revealed its closure dates over Christmas and New Year.

During the holidays, "most of Fife Council" will be closed from December 23-27 (with Christmas Day and Boxing Day falling on Saturday and Sunday, respectively).

The local authority will also be closed on December 30, 31 and January 3 (with New Year's Day a Saturday this year).

Anyone that requires out of hours support relating to an emergency social work or housing repair, or urgent information relating to a birth, death or marriage, can call 03451 55 00 99.

There are no changes to household bin collections and bins will be collected on their scheduled days, with residents asked to have their bin out by 6am for collection.

Recycling centres will be operating as normal from Monday to Friday but will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day, as well as New Year's Day and January 2.

Commercial waste bins due to be emptied on Christmas Day and Boxing Day will be emptied on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28. Similarly, commercial bins due to be emptied on New Year's Day and January 2, will be emptied on Monday 3 and Tuesday 4.

There are no special uplifts from Monday next week, December 20, until they restart on January 4.

Real Christmas trees can be recycled for free by cutting it up and putting it in the brown bin.
