DUNFERMLINE indie rockers TwinsTown released their Christmas single, ‘I Don’t Know What I Want for Christmas’, on Monday.

The band, who declared their song “Better than Elton’s” have collaborated with My Pet Rocket for the song.

The single is a celebration of Christmas, endorsing all festivities, even, controversially, Brussels sprouts.

Previously, the two groups played at the Twa Tams in Perth alongside Hugh Reed and the Velvet Underpants, who will appear in the single’s music video.

The song was produced by Robin Wynn Evans at his Tpot Studios in Path of Condie and features a special guest appearance by Dunfermline's Billy George, best known as the lead singer of Honk.

TwinsTown is fronted by brothers Donald and Stuart MacKay, who have been described as “full of Christmas cheer” by Petra Jolly, of My Pet Rocket.

She said: “We are all very happy with our new Christmas single and it's been great fun working not only with TwinsTown but with Billy, Robin and, of course, Hugh, whose video intro is awesome.”

TwinsTown have invited Petra and Billy to join the band on stage when they headline the Whanga Records Christmas Party, an all-day event taking place at PJ Malloys, Dunfermline, on Sunday.
