A ROSYTH woman has expressed her concern over PCR availability.

Vicky Grimes looked to order four home PCR testing kits yesterday (Thursday), only to find there were none in stock.

After developing symptoms, Vicky and the rest of her household all took lateral flow tests.

Herself, her daughter, and her grand-daughter all reported positive results, only her husband seemed to be in the clear.

As then required, Vicky went online to order home PCR kits to confirm the results.

She said: "They email you a code, it took nearly seven hours for the code to come through and you can't move forward without it.

"Eventually, the code came through but they had completely wiped the form out and it said there were no other home testing kits available.

"I was raging, it was a nightmare.

"I have gone back on this morning, I wasn't going to, and it has said there are home tests available.

"I did the form again and put in the code they sent me and it did accept it so they are now ordered.

"All day yesterday, I waited seven hours, to be told there were no kits available.

"We thought, this is just too hard, we were going to isolate for the 10 days anyway."

However, Vicky was not only concerned for her own family, but others in her predicament but who may not have had the common sense to isolate without PCR confirmation.

"The worrying thing is," she said, "how many people are there out there like us who just thought, 'Sod it, we are not going to do it'?

"They need to get it sorted out, if you are going to have a service like that, it needs to work."

The Scottish Government has been approached by the Press for comment.
