"MINDLESS idiots" are being blamed for damage at Aberdour Castle last night.
Police have issued an appeal for information after windows were smashed at the historic West Fife site between yesterday (Monday) evening and this morning.
Officers posted on South West Fife Police's Twitter page that about the "pathetic" behaviour.
"Damage caused to several windows at #Aberdour Castle, which has occurred between 5pm yesterday (17th) and 8am today," they said. "Sad to think that this is someone’s idea of entertainment. No doubt trying to impress someone else with their pathetic behaviour. Absolutely no excuse for it.
"If anyone has any information to help identify the mindless idiot(s) responsible, please phone 101 with reference number 0475 of the 18th of January.
"Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity “Crime Stoppers” by phoning 0800 555 111."
