PREMISES which have housed a bakery in Aberdour for more than 40 years are undergoing extensive renovations before a new tenant is found.

Commercial landlord Philip Hain purchased the property at 5 High Street recently and plans to let it out once the revamping work is completed.

"I have had interest but I have not got it let yet," he explained.

"I have got to try and let it to someone who will bring something to the village."

The acquisition of the former bakery adds to Philip's portfolio of business properties across Fife, which includes another shop in Aberdour and 11 premises in Rosyth.

One of his most recent project has been the renovation of a Methodist church in Kirkcaldy.

"I saved that from getting knocked down and now have a few people interested in that," he added.

"We have stripped it (the bakery) all out as it had not had much done to it for about 50 years. We are stripping everything out but we will retain the shop front."
