A 47-YEAR-OLD man breached bail conditions when he cycled from Edinburgh to Dalgety Bay and was spotted by his estranged wife.

Fergus Thomson, of Drummond Street, Edinburgh, went on trial at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

He was found guilty of a charge that he breached bail conditions on October 31, 2020, at Fulmer Way, Dalgety Bay, when he approached his former partner.

The woman told the court she had seen Thomson hanging about outside Greggs when she had gone there and then inside Asda.

She drove to the Dalgety Bay police station to report Thomson but there were no officers there at the time. Thomson had then come outside the police station on his bike.

In his evidence, Thomson said he was only trying to see his 14-year-old son. When his wife had gone to a shop, Thomson managed to speak to the boy briefly, the court heard.

Sheriff Francis Gill found Thomson guilty. He called for reports and Thomson will be sentenced on April 7.
