PODIUM places and new personal bests were on the menu as Dunfermline Track and Field stars served up indoor race success.

Athletes in the under-13, under-15 and under-20 age groups represented the club at the 4J Studios Scottish Athletics National Indoor Championships, held over two days at Glasgow's Emirates Arena.

It proved to be particularly successful for under-13 athlete Charlie Hunter, who took home a gold and a silver medal.

He topped the podium in the high jump, thanks to a new personal best leap of 1.38 metres, which came after he had finished second in the 60 metres hurdles with another PB of 10.7 seconds.

In the under-15 girls' age group, there was also a silver medal for Sophie Thomas who, having equalled her best time of 7.94 in the semi-final, ran the 60m sprint in eight seconds.

That event saw Sarah Kane make the semi-final after an excellent run of 8.49, however, she was unfortunate to just miss out on a place in the final.

There was a large turnout from the club in the under-13 girls' 60m, with Sophie Jenkinson, Lottie Thomas, Hollie Lynas, Freya Kiernan, Ana Stobie, Lily Pritchard and Murron Kane all in action.

The heats brought PBs for Freya, Murron and Hollie, and a season's best for Lily, while Lottie progressed to the final, running an excellent PB of 8.85 to finish sixth in her first year in that age category.

In the 200m, she and both Murron and Briony Argo ran PBs in the heats, while Lottie and Murron reached the semi-finals, where the former posted a new best of 30.25 as they didn't quite make it into the final.

Briony, and Lucy Gibb, produced a PB in the 60m hurdles semi-finals which secured the former a final place, where another PB of 12.56 was recorded, just missing out on the medals.

Those competing in the 800m were in good form, with a season's best for Macy Wainwright (2:45.22) helping her finish seventh overall, followed by Poppy Warner in 10th (2:48.21), and Molly Robinson who, in her first competitive race over the distance, ran a PB of 3:01.49.

In the boys' race, a season's best for Lucas Alexander (2:41.01) saw him secure a top 10 berth, while Lucy Gibb recorded a PB of 6:11.44 in the 1500m.

There was another season's best for Lucas in the long jump of 3.08m, in which Freya Kiernan (3.24m) and Lily Pritchard (3.08m) did likewise in the girls' event, while Molly cleared 1.14m in the high jump.

Sophie Thomas and Sarah Kane were also in action in the under-15 girls' 200m, where Sophie reached the final in 26.90, placing fifth in 27.59, while Sarah ran a PB of 28.77 in the heats to reach the semi-final.

Rachel Barnett ran a time of 2:52.51 in the 800m, which was not quite enough to make the final, which Amy Jenkinson did qualify in the 60m hurdles, finishing sixth in 9.86.

Darcie Black stepped up to compete in the under-20 age group where, despite a PB of 10.81, she missed out on a medal in the hurdles, as well as finishing seventh in the high jump with a clearance of 1.54m.

Mya McMahon also stepped up an age group to compete in the under-20 events, placing sixth with a 5.09m long jump, while Matthew Tait just missed out on an under-17 boys' high jump medal as he finished fourth with a 1.95m clearance.
