POLICE were assaulted in the line of duty in the South West Fife area.
That was just one of the offences recorded during seven days on the beat from March 21 to 27.
Their area covers Rosyth, Inverkeithing, Dalgety Bay, Oakley, Valleyfield, Kincardine and the West Fife villages and during that week they received a total of 201 calls, with 29 requiring an emergency response.
Police opened 31 crime files containing a total of 43 charges.
Other offences dealt with during the week included assault to injury, theft and intention to steal, shoplifting, vandalism, breach of bail conditions, assault, resisting arrest, failing to stop after a road traffic collision and driving without insurance.
The force continue to urge the public to call 999 in an emergency and 101 for non-emergencies.
