A 46-YEAR-OLD man has been fined for his behaviour in his then family home.
Darren Nicholson, 46, now of Wilson Street, Townhill, appeared at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.
He admitted that on an occasion between January 1, 2018, and January 1, 2019, at his then home in Dalgety Bay, he assaulted a boy then aged 13 or 14, by striking him on the head whereby he struck his head against a chair, all to his injury.
He also admitted that between January 1 and July 25 last year, at his then home, he engaged in an abusive course of conduct towards his wife by repeatedly shouting and swearing at her and making abusive remarks to her.
He repeatedly threw household items, a mobile phone and items of clothing about the house, sent electronic messages containing abusive and threatening remarks to her, banged on doors within the house and struck and damaged doors there repeatedly.
Defence solicitor Stephen Morrison said his client was a first offender and was struggling to cope with the breakdown of his marriage at that time.
“They had been together for 23 years and she didn’t want the marriage to continue,” he added.
Sheriff Robert More imposed a fine of £440 and a two-year non-harassment order.
