DUNFERMLINE and West Fife MP Douglas Chapman has branded the area a "world leader" in maritime and shipbuilding after visiting a Hillend firm.
Mr Chapman stopped off at Kongsberg's manufacturing base near Dalgety Bay where key components such as stabilisers for everything from private yachts to huge naval vessels are produced.
“It’s been three years since I last visited Kongsberg and, in that time, the company has gone from strength to strength, employing around 100 people at the West Fife site," said Mr Chapman.
“It’s manufacturing key components for ships all over the world, and also making strides in defence and digital technology too.
“It’s great to see another international business with a thriving base in West Fife, which only adds to the area’s growing reputation as a world leader when it comes to the maritime and shipbuilding sector."
