APPEALS for donations to help in Ukraine continue to be well-supported in West Fife.

Vivian Maeda, from Dalgety Bay, and her partner, chocolatier Sebastian Kobelt, have organised an online raffle in aid of the DEC Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.

The fundraiser will help to support refugees who have left Ukraine and provide food, water, shelter, and healthcare.

There are more than 28 prizes, ranging from lunch at the Gannet by chef Peter McKenna, a meal for four at Creel Caught by Chef Gary Maclean, and a chutney masterclass with Jean Miller.

Tickets are £10 each and 100 per cent of funds will go to the appeal.

Participants should be over the age of 18 and winners will be drawn at random on May 27, then contacted by email on June 3.

The Monarch Bar is hosting a fundraising day on Saturday, June 5.

This will involve a free event with acoustic acts appearing in the beer garden from 2pm, and an upstairs function at £10 a ticket.

Acts include Stevie Agnew & Albo, Lauren & Laura, Citizen 1, Abstract Truth, The Georgians, and State of Emergency.

Fife College's Hair and Beauty course is hosting a charity open day on Wednesday, May 11.

The event will take place at the Dunfermline campus with morning and afternoon availability for taster sessions including mini facials, back neck and shoulder massages, and Indian head massages. Donations are suggested to start at £3. Also available will be a bake sale and raffle, with all proceeds going to the Ukraine appeal. You can message Hair & Beauty at Fife on Facebook or call 01383 559111 to get involved.

Primary school pupils at Kings Road in Rosyth have raised funds for the Red Cross after hosting a second-hand toy and book sale (see page 7).

Students in the 6B class organised and promoted the idea themselves and made a total of £880 in donations.

A stall will be set up at the Dalgety Bay Community Market this Sunday by Chernobyl Children's Lifeline with pre-loved jigsaws and a tombola on offer.

The event is hosted alongside That Place in the Bay between 10am and 3pm and is free to attend. In addition to the fundraising, there will be street food, fresh produce, and arts and crafts.

The charity help to support families affected by the conflict in Ukraine.
