A WOMAN was assaulted by her partner’s ex at a bus stop in High Valleyfield.

Emily Brown also subjected her former partner to a torrent of abuse and later warned the woman she was going to be in serious trouble at court.

However, it was 31-year-old Brown, now of an address in Perth, and formerly of Tinian Crescent, Newmills, who ended up in the dock at Dunfermline Sheriff Court.

She admitted that on July 11 last year, at Valleyfield Avenue, High Valleyfield, she repeatedly shouted and swore at her former partner.

She also assaulted a woman by striking her on the head and body to her injury.

She further admitted that on August 1, in Dunfermline, she breached bail conditions when she contacted the same woman.

Then, on August 5, at Valleyfield Avenue, High Valleyfield, she breached undertaking conditions by contacting the man and woman when banned from doing so.

Depute fiscal Catherine Stevenson said that, at around 4pm, on July 11, Brown approached her ex-partner and his girlfriend, who were waiting at a bus stop.

She shouted “paedo” and “beast” at the man before turning her attention to the female, striking her twice. The blows caused “pain and bruising”, added the depute.

On August 1, Brown started sending Facebook messages to the woman about an upcoming court case.

She stated: “You’ve lied to the police”, “You’re going to look like a t*** next week” and “You’re going to get into serious trouble for lying under oath”.

On August 5, Brown again targeted the couple when she saw them walking along the street in High Valleyfield.

She threatened the woman, saying, “I slapped you before and it won’t be the last time.”

Defence solicitor David McLaughlin said his client and the man involved had previously been in a relationship for six to seven years.

He added she now had a new partner and the family had moved to a new area to make a fresh start.

Sheriff Wylie Robertson imposed a community payback order with two years of supervision and non-harassment orders protecting the man and woman for 12 months.
