THE busiest GP surgeries in West Fife have been revealed through figures released by Public Health Scotland.

The data showed there are now 5,195 GPs working across Scotland – an increase of 74 compared to the previous year.

In West Fife, the busiest surgery was found to be Valleyfield Health Centre where there are 4,094 patients registered but just ONE doctor to meet their demands.

Hospital Hill surgery in Dunfermline is the next busiest. It has three GPs for its 8,725 patients, meaning 2,908 per GP.

Linburn Road Health Centre has 1,774 patients per GP while a GP at Park Road surgery in Rosyth has 1,525 people to look after.

Oakley Health Centre, where there are 8,804 patients and six doctors, has 1,467 patients per GP while at Charlestown Health Centre, it is 1,412 patients per GP.

At Bellyeoman Surgery, where there is a patient list of 10,775, it is 1,347 patients per GP while at Inverkeithing Health Centre, it is 1,293 patients per GP.

Mill Hill surgery in Dunfermline has 1,232 patients per GP while at the New Park Health Centre, it is 1,205 patients for every GP.

In Rosyth, Primrose Lane Health Centre has 1,191 patients for every doctor while at Kelty Health Centre it is 1,044.

At Netherton Surgery in Dunfermline, there are 12,055 patients and 11 doctors making it 1,029 patients per GP.
