Beath High School's Aaron MacGregor has been performing from a young age and has a variety of notable credits to his name at the age of just 12.

The first year pupil recently auditioned for a place at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and was successful in his efforts.

The school stated on social media how "very proud" they were of Aaron, a former Crossgates Primary School pupil.

His family were also delighted with their stage star, and told the Times: "He has been performing since the age of six and started at the Alhambra Stage School and then moved onto Limelight (Productions) in Dunfermline.

"He is now a part of the Glasgow Philharmonia Movies to Musicals kids cast, where he performs alongside West End stars in movie to musical shows throughout Scotland.

"He has been in lots of productions but to name a few he played Tiny Tim, Oliver, the Artful Dodger and was an Oakmore child in the Mativity UK tour.

"He has recently finished his run playing Gavroche in the Les Miserables UK and Ireland tour where he performed in the Theatre Royal in Glasgow, Liverpool Empire, and the Bord Gais in Dublin.

"He has had various lead acting jobs including parts in Outlander series 6, CBBC Princess Mirror Belle, Superpupz on Netflix where he voices the Scottie dog Haggis and is currently filming as lead role Michael in Michael Morpurgo”s feature film Kensukes Kingdom.

"Aaron recently auditioned for the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland (ranked top five in the world for performing arts) amongst a high volume of applicants with exceptional talent and has successfully gained a place to study in musical theatre.

"Spaces are limited and this is a great achievement at 12-years-old.

"Aaron would like to follow his dreams and continue his acting career in TV and film, and musical theatre where he thrives on performing in-front of a live audience and has his sights on further education in this area leading to a career in the industry."
