TWO children aged 13 and 11 have been traced by police after the death of a peacock in Dunfermline on Monday night.
The force said the pair "have been identified in relation to the incident" at the aviary in Pittencrieff Park which left one bird dead and another badly injured.
A report for the 13-year-old has been submitted through the Youth Justice System.
Last December the age of criminal responsibility in Scotland was raised from eight to 12 years of age.
One of the peacocks, called Malcolm, was killed on Monday night while another, Louis, is recovering from his injuries.
