A DUNFERMLINE restaurant who offer something "totally different" are in the running for a national award.
Basil, a South Indian restaurant on Carnegie Drive, has been named as one of the finalists for the Scottish Curry awards in the Dining Experience of the Year category.
The restaurant has now been nominated in the awards twice – last year, the team took home the prize for Customer Service of the Year.
Robin Thomas and his team, Daisy Thomas, Hareesh K Das and Jerry Jose, claim to be the only South Indian restaurant in the area and offer a range of popular, authentic dishes.
Their loyal customers, those who nominated the eatery for the award, enjoy their Vada Sambar, Idli Chat and Kerala Kozi Curry. The restaurant is also awaiting a chef who will introduce South India's most popular dish to the menu, Dosa.
Robin told the Press: "We are very happy because my team and my two chefs, Hareesh, who is our main chef, and Jerry, who is our Tandoori chef, are working very well.
"We are giving out something totally different from other restaurants, our menus are totally different, so we have a lot of regular customers."
Robin and his team are going to attend the award ceremony at the Marriot Hotel in Glasgow on June 13 with their families.
