A GROUP of Rosyth workers are set to get on their bikes for a special charity challenge.

The team, from Oceaneering, will take on the 68-mile Tour de Forth to raise funds for Cash for Kids Scotland later this month.

David Stubbs, Jimmy Smith and George Bain have already raised more than £1,000 through their efforts and the race will see them cross both the Forth Road Bridge and the Kincardine Bridge and will even go past their work.

Colleague Desiree Hammer will also be taking part and take on the tour's shorter 35-mile route.

Workers at Oceaneers' Subsea Distribution Solutions (SDS) site in Rosyth have established a Community Engagement Resource Group (CERG) recently which will focus on making a difference through events like the cycle.

Dionne Porteus, SDS supply chain manager and CERG sponsor, explained: "The CERG is an exciting 2022 initiative to bring employees together, working within a framework of collaboration, engagement and creativity, to support great causes that fit into five themes: Cancer, Mental Health, Children's Needs and Support, Local Community and Ukraine.

"The CERG is a small team of 12 employees whose focus is to collect and share ideas, arrange fundraising events, organise volunteering activities, positively impact great causes, and have fun along the way.

"This will be done through engagement with the wider Oceaneering Rosyth team and we're excited to see what we can achieve this year. The past couple of years have been challenging due to COVID and this is a fantastic opportunity to work and grow together and achieve great things."
