DALGETY PLAYERS are set to put on their first show at the Carnegie Hall with ‘Big the Musical’, from June 30 until July 2.

The group is based in Dalgety Bay and aims to provide more than 40 youths with a fun, safe environment where they are a part of a team and work to build their self-esteem.

The Players made their return to the stage in March with their annual panto, their first performance in two years.

Club president Kat Bandeira said: “Through the pandemic, we became a lot closer as a club and would support anyone affected by COVID. We have become more like a family.”

Kat also shared some of the ways the club supported its members and the community through the pandemic: “We would stand outside the local residential care home, Henderson House, and tried to bring them a bit of joy whilst they weren’t allowed visitors. For our members, we would do our weekly Zoom meetings with quizzes, treasure hunts and sign language lessons as well as making fun videos.

“We always get great support from the local community with businesses keen to advertise and promote us, as well as donating raffle prizes. We’ve also seen a great influx of members from Dalgety Bay and surrounding areas.”
