DALGETY BAY shoppers will have to be quicker than the checkout staff as Aldi's Supermarket Sweep heads to the town.

With five minutes alone to search the shelves, whatever the participant can fill their trolley with is theirs. After the time runs out, Aldi will price match the value of the haul and give the proceeds to a local foodbank of the shoppers choice.

A great way to get some freebies while raising money for a good cause, the lucky winner can also use their time to hunt for a hidden inflatable in the store. Finding this would see their cash donation double and allow them to bag a SpecialBuy of their choice up to the value of £50.

Richard Holloway, regional managing director for Scotland, said: “The Supermarket Sweep is an event in the Aldi calendar that we all look forward to. We are so pleased to be bringing the initiative back for another year and offer one lucky Dalgety Bay resident the chance to have a shopping experience like no other.

“Foodbanks across Scotland have worked tirelessly over the last two years to help those who need their services the most. Last year we donated almost £9,000 to foodbanks through Supermarket Sweep and we want to build on this in 2022."

The sweep will take place after the store closes at 10pm on the shoppers chosen date.

Applicants must be over 18 and a Dalgety Bay resident to enter and alcohol products aren't included in the sweep. It's free to enter and applications can be made from today (Monday, July 4) to Sunday July 10, in-store or by emailing: supermarketsweep@aldi.co.uk.
