IN just seven days police in South West Fife dealt with 217 calls and crimes including assault, theft, vandalism and drug driving.

Their beat includes Rosyth, Inverkeithing, Dalgety Bay and the West Fife villages and last week 18 of those calls required an immediate or priority response.

A busy working week led to 30 crime files being recorded, containing a total of 51 charges, between June 27 and July 3.

Offences included assault on police, shoplifting, fraud, resisting arrest, possession of an air weapon without having a certificate, assault to injury, driving with no insurance, possession of class B drugs and careless driving.

South West Fife police added: “Some of the calls relate to crime but we also attended to road traffic matters, concern for person calls, reports of missing persons and more.”
