STAFF at a Dunfermline care home have been celebrating scooping the Team of the Year title at a recent awards ceremony.

The workers from Canmore Lodge received the north division crown at the Barchester Care Awards ceremony and will now go through to the national round of judging in October.

Success was also served up employee Davis Mathai who was named Chef of the Year for the firm's North Division.

The awards celebrate the staff who go the extra mile for the benefit of the 12,000 residents living in Barchester’s 248 care homes and private hospitals across the country.

More than 2,950 nominations were received from homes and hospitals across the UK.

General Manager, Jane Aitken, was delighted to see staff recognised.

“This is an amazing achievement and the whole home is supporting our Team and chef Mathai. We are so proud of them," she said. "They all do fantastic work, and the excellent care given is greatly appreciated by our residents and their relatives.”

Staff and residents at Canmore Lodge are now gearing up for their Canmore Crufts event which will be taking place later this month.

The event is being held on Saturday, August 13 from 2pm until 4pm and will include a dog show with a difference as well as entertainment, BBQ, pizza, raffle, tombola and a stunning pup parade!

Each canine competitor will receive a gift, with the top three placings scooping a prize and rosette.

Entry is £5 but all four legged friends can join the competition for free.
