GIVE your glasses and contact lenses a new lease on life at the Specsavers in Dalgety Bay.
The store has partnered up with MyGroup recycling experts to install recycling boxes for customers to bring their glasses, sunglasses, contact lenses and contact lens plastic packaging including solution bottles, blister packs and lens cases.
Once they have been shipped off to the recycling plants, the old glasses and contact lenses will become new furniture and home and garden accessories, including benches and play park equipment. MyGroup can also turn them into sustainable plywood alternatives that can be recycled again and again.
Natalie Stewart-Murphy, retail director at Specsavers, says: ‘At Specsavers we are striving to improve what we do to protect the planet so we are pleased to be offering customers the chance to recycle a range of eyewear products."
