SUMMER fun was on offer at a special Family Fun Day at Craigie House Care Home last weekend.

Activities for all ages – as well as food and entertainment – were laid on for the event.

Manager Iwona Sobczak declared the day a "massive success."

She said: "We were so pleased.

"The weather had not been starting so very well and it had been raining but as soon as we started, it stopped and the sun came out. It was beautiful.

"We would like to say thank you to all the people who have been donating for the raffles and thank you to all the people who came and had fun with us.

"We had a bouncy castle, stalls with homemade cakes, knitting and hair accessories.

"There was a tombola, face painting for children, games like hook a duck and we had burgers and hot dogs and home made tablet, macaroon and chocolate.

"The father of one of the carers also came in and played music for us all."

The day was organised by the home's activities coordinator Angela Drummond and some residents were able to come outside to join in the fun.

"It was something for everyone, not just the relatives from the care home, and it was a massive success," added Iwona.
